I got back yesterday from Normandy and here is my journal:
Thursday:
We spent Thursday on the bus. We left school at 1:00am and reached Dover at 8:00am; we took the Seafrance at 8:30am.
After the crossing it was 11:00am so we decided to have a stop at City Europe; we had 1 hour to have a look around and have breakfast. After City Europe we got back on the bus fir a further 4 hours with several stop overs on the way. We finally reached our château at 6:00pm.
That evening we unpacked, had diner and then had our evening entertainment; Cluedo.
Friday:
On Friday morning we went for a town trail. We went to a close by medieval town and walked 1 mile following French directions. On our trail we also had to buy a postcard to send to home and school.
That afternoon we went to a local boulangerie to make croissants. I bought a croissant, ‘C’etait super!’ After this we walked back to the château. When we got back we had an hour’s worth of free time and then we had diner.
Friday’s evening entertainment was survival skills, we had to build a fire and cook cookie dough.
Saturday:
On Saturday we went to a local farm to make our own butter. We watched how they seperated milk into scream a semi skimmed milk. And then we stirred the cream in a box to produce butter. It was very fun. I bought some home-made jam from here as well.
After the farm we went to Hyper U. Here we were allowed to have a break and do some shopping, it was massive! Saturday’s evening entertainment was a disco. they played some music too loud and people tried to dance but failed. When I got back to my dorm my friend’s and I had a feast. 
Sunday:
We spent Sunday on the bus once again. We stopped off at Hon Fleur and then continued our 4 hour journey to the Euro Tunnel. We spent half an hour on the Euro Tunnel and then set off for a journey of 5 hours to get back to school. We planned to get back at 9:00pm.
But of course this is England. We were on the M25 when our teacher broke out the news that three out of four lanes were closed! So our driver decided to turn off the motorway, but you guessed it. He didn’t know his way; our teacher then attempted to direct the driver using a 2004 map.
Our driver then gave up and rejoined the motorway. It took us 2 hours to pass 2 junctions. But then more bad news, the M40 had been closed due to another accident. We decided to stop for diner and I had Burger King. Back on the bus it was getting slightly better, the roads had cleared up and our driver now knew where we were so he managed to get back to school resonabley well. We finally got back at 11:00pm.
